Privacy Policy — Intuit Sketchbook

Intuit Sketchbook ("the App") is used by students, faculty, and
administrators of École Intuit Lab to submit, review, and grade weekly
sketch assignments. This policy explains what information the App
collects, how it is used, and who can see it.
Information We Collect
- Account information: username (email address), and
role (student, faculty, or admin). Passwords are stored to
authenticate you within the App and are only visible to you and the
program administrator who manages accounts.
- Roster information: name, email, phone number, and
batch/class assignment, entered by program administrators.
- Sketch photos: photos you take or select of your
sketch assignments, submitted through the App.
- Grades and feedback: ratings and written feedback
that faculty provide on submitted sketches, plus automatically
computed submission-count and final grades.
- Automated capture-quality feedback: when you submit
a sketch photo, the App sends that photo to Google's Gemini AI service
to automatically assess photo quality (focus, lighting, alignment,
cleanliness) and return suggestions. This is used only to help you
retake a poor-quality photo before submitting it for grading.
How Information Is Used
- To authenticate you and determine what you can see and do in the App
(student, faculty, or admin).
- To organize and display sketch submissions to the faculty
responsible for grading them.
- To compute and display grades and progress to students, faculty, and
administrators.
- To send you account-related emails (e.g., account creation, password
resets) from the program administrator.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your
information to third parties.
Where Information Is Stored
- Account, roster, and grade data is stored in Google Firebase
(Firestore), a cloud database service.
- Sketch photos are stored in Google Drive, organized by academic
period, batch, and week.
- Photo quality analysis is performed by Google's Gemini AI API;
photos sent for this analysis are subject to Google's own API
data-handling terms.
Who Can See Your Information
- Students can see their own submissions, grades, and
feedback.
- Faculty can see the roster, submissions, and grades
for the batches they teach.
- Administrators can see all roster, submission, and
grade data across the program, and can manage accounts (including
resetting passwords).
Data Retention
Roster, submission, and grade data is retained for as long as your
program administrator keeps it in the system. You may contact your
program administrator to request access to or deletion of your data.
Camera and Photo Library Access
The App requests camera and photo library access solely so you can
photograph or select images of your sketches to submit as assignments. No
photos are captured or uploaded without your explicit action.
Children's Privacy
The App is intended for use by students enrolled in École Intuit Lab
under the direction of their instructors and program administrators.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the App
after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
